David L. Rader has more than 30 years of experience as an insurance executive. In 2011, he retired as president and chief executive officer of West Virginia Mutual Insurance Company, the largest medical professional liability insurer in West Virginia, following eight years of service. He has continued to serve that company in part-time and consulting capacities since his retirement.
David’s extensive experience in the insurance industry includes having served as an officer or director of insurance companies in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Puerto Rico and Wisconsin. He was a founding member of the Physician Insurers Association of America and is the former president and CEO of American Physicians Life Insurance Company.
David is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
David was appointed to the board of directors of BrickStreet Mutual in 2006 when it became a private company, and served on that board until 2017. He was elected in 2017 to a four-year term on the Motorists Mutual board where he serves as chair of the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Investment Committee.
He and his wife reside in Gainesville, Florida.
