Motorists Insurance Group launched its new commercial lines company – Motorists Insurance – today in Michigan and Tennessee.
“Our associates have worked tirelessly for the past few years to make Motorists Insurance a reality, and the company truly transforms the way we do business and deepens our partnership with the independent agents that represent us,” Motorists CEO Dave Kaufman said.
The company features state-of-the-art technology to make the process from quoting to issuance and policy servicing simple and streamlined via Guidewire InsuranceSuite™, which Motorists Insurance Group purchased in 2014. The suite includes underwriting, claims management, billing, rating and policy administration. Motorists also purchased Guidewire portals to improve its agency and policyholder interactions.
The products Motorists Insurance offers are unique in the industry. The MiChoice Business Program offers tiers to choose the right coverage to fit the size and unique liability needs of a company. Policyholders won’t pay for coverage they don’t want or need, and agents will have more power to customize a policy to satisfy their customers’ needs and budget.
The commercial product offering complements the workers’ compensation offerings of BrickStreet, which Motorists Insurance Group recently announced an affiliation with.
“We took a serious look at how insurance coverage is packaged and determined it didn’t always fit every customer,” Kaufman said. “Motorists has always committed to being the most trusted and responsive carrier, and we felt strongly that ensuring our customers had the right coverage fit our mission.”
